To learn a language you must live it! The UMBC Modern Languages, Linguistics and Intercultural Communication department encourages all students studying a foreign language to spend time overseas. Live in Quebec for a semester and take classes with the locals. Immerse yourself in the Belgian culture while earning credits toward your French major or minor. Explore the rich history of France while improving your French language skills. Language courses are available at all levels, from beginner to advanced. Students can study in Canada, Europe or Africa.
