Caylie joined UMBC’s Study Abroad Office in December 2015 as the Assistant Director of Study Abroad. Her first study abroad experience was on an ISEP exchange in Aix-en-Provence, France during her junior year while a student at UMBC. She also studied abroad in Italy twice, the first time in Todi during a summer and again as part of her Master’s program doing a survey of the Italian higher education system.

Caylie holds a B.A. in Modern Languages and Linguistics and French from UMBC and an M.S.ed. in International Higher Education from Old Dominion University. Caylie brings study abroad advising and crisis management experience from Old Dominion University, North Carolina State University, and the College of William and Mary as well as the Medex Emergency Response Center (part of United Healthcare).

Caylie’s passion for study abroad began with her own experience. She is very devoted to international education and helping students meet their study abroad goals. She believes that learning empowers us to communicate across boundaries, enriching our lives and the lives of others.
