Stephen M. R. Moore

Fuuusion-hah!

Telford, England. 2013 BUCS Outdoor Championship.

Stephen is a member of the UMBC class of 2015. He majors in Computer Engineering and Mathematics and minors in Writing. His first experience abroad was spending his junior year in Swansea, Wales throughout the 2013-2014 academic year. After a year in the UK, he joined the team at the Study Abroad office to help spread interest in the incredible experience that is study abroad. It was during his time abroad that Stephen became involved with his current passions: archery and energy engineering.

While in Swansea, Stephen joined the university’s archery and fencing teams. With these clubs, he was able to travel all around the UK and meet some fantastic people. To conclude his time abroad, he camped out at the Telford archery field, competing in the annual British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) championship.

Upon returning to UMBC, he organized the UMBC Archery team, aiming to get other students involved in the sport by the fall of 2014. Now, his travels are now spurred on by his studies in engineering as he pursues further research into alternative energy. He thanks his study abroad experience for all of these opportunities and for drastically increasing his visibility in the engineering marketplace.
