Decisions have been made for the first-ever Education Abroad Photo Contest! Our office would like to thank everyone who submitted a photo, we thoroughly enjoyed seeing your perspectives of both study abroad and UMBC.
Our first prize winners for each category are:
Study Abroad Student: Pooja Singh, who studied abroad in India during the fall 2018 semester.
International Student: Kaustubh Agrahari, an international student from India
Faculty/Staff Study Abroad Throwback: Grace Castle, an Academic Advisor for Global Studies who studied abroad at Newcastle University in England.
Our first prize winners will receive a professionally printed copy of the photo in the fall, as well as having their photo displayed at the university retreat this summer, after which a copy will remain on display in either the Education Abroad Office, International Education Services Office or faculty/staff member’s department.
We would also like to recognize our “People’s Choice” winners in each category. These participants will have their photos displayed electronically on our website and social media accounts. They are:
Study Abroad Student: Miju Sultana, who studied abroad in the Netherlands during the summer of 2018.
International Student: Gaurab Hore, and international student from India
Faculty/Staff Study Abroad Throwback: Shanice Harris, a Financial Aid Counselor, who studied abroad in Taipei, Taiwan.
