Education Abroad is happy to announce our first-ever photo contest! We are asking for photo contest submissions for the following three categories:
1. Study Abroad Students
a. Eligibility: Must be a UMBC undergraduate student who studied abroad for academic credit – cannot currently be abroad.
b. Desired Photos: We want to see something individual to your experience – something that sums up your time abroad. We are going to receive a ton of photos of the Eiffel Tower for example, but what makes your experience special?
2. Faculty/Staff Study Abroad
a. Eligibility: Must be a UMBC faculty or staff member who studied abroad for academic credit during their college career.
b. Desired Photos: A walk down memory lane – we want to see fun and interactive photos of our faculty and staff abroad!
3. International Student Perspectives on UMBC
a. Eligibility: Must be a current international student here on a UMBC issued visa.
b. Desired Photos: We want to see UMBC through your eyes! What stands out to you as the defining aspects of UMBC – is it the students? The spaces? The opportunities?
The deadline to submit a photo for consideration is has passed.
Photo contest winners will be contacted on May 15th. First place winners in each category will have their photos professionally printed and will receive a printed copy and have a copy displayed at the Campus Retreat this August. Following the Retreat, photos will be permanently displayed in the following places on campus:
· Study Abroad Students – Education Abroad Office
· Faculty/Staff Study Abroad – Displayed in either the winner’s home office or the Education Abroad Office
· International Student Perspectives on UMBC – International Education Services’ office
There will also be a “People’s Choice” winner in each category. These applicants will have their photos showcased on our website and social media accounts.
We look forward to seeing all of your submissions!
