Led by a UMBC faculty member

Students take 1 or 2 UMBC courses (3-7 credits)

TO UMBC: The program fee

Tuition is waived

UMBC Exchange UMBC Students have the opportunity to study at a foreign university, and a student at that foreign university has the opportunity to study at UMBC To UMBC: UMBC tuition

Not to UMBC: foreign institution room and board

Academic Year, Fall, Spring
Affiliated Partner Non-UMBC institutions that offer education abroad experiences to students

The partner coordinates the enrollment process, accommodations, meal plans, and excursions

Not to UMBC: Program expenses set by the organization which usually include tuition, accommodations, insurance, and activities  Academic Year, Fall, Spring, Summer, Winter
 

ISEP Exchange

An exchange network of over 250 universities around the world

Placement is variable and applications are due much earlier than other programs

The application deadline is earlier than most other programs, please contact the Study Abroad Office if you are interested in ISEP

To UMBC: UMBC Tuition, Housing, and Meal Plan (set at an ISEP rate) Academic Year, Fall, Spring, Summer
 UMBC Approved Direct Students apply to a foreign university directly

Students are responsible for enrolling in courses, housing, and the logistics of their program

Direct enrollment often offers less support than other programs

Not to UMBC: Foreign institution tuition, housing, your living expenses Academic Year, Fall, Spring, Summer, Winter
