Pre-Departure Post

‘Twas Monday, June 30th:

Hello 🤗 I’m Celine, and welcome to my blog as I embark on an amazing journey to Cape Town, South Africa.  I and a group of 9 other students are heading to Cape Town through a Faculty-Led program with Professor Jessica Cook. Global Community Engagement and Social Change, that’s the title of the program, and I’m super excited! I’m also a little tired and ready to get some sleep on the plane. South Africa is 6 hours ahead, so I’ll definitely be sleeping throughout the 14 hours and 50 minutes flight to get my body accustomed to the time difference.

This is a group pic of us with Jada, our teaching assistant. One of the students flew with a different Airline, so we’re missing her in the picture.

Might I add, this is my first time flying from Dulles Airport, and by far this is the most advanced airport I’ve ever been to, and that’s in comparison to the only other one I’ve flown from: BWI. Here at Dulles, they use face recognition to board people — that’s cool! It makes the boarding process quick!

Anywho, stay tuned!!
